I taught myself to swim using tutorials found on the web before that was really even a thing. Then I joined a team to "vary my workout" and ended up winning a world championship less than a decade later.
This book - my first that was worth sharing and landed me my first book contract - was born from me wondering what it would be like to have a musician write the song as the swimmer swam. For that kind of connection between two people, it naturally had to be a love story. In true Absurdly Lori fashion, the rest was developed from that jumping off point.
